Hello and welcome to my site!
My name is Donna and I am 6 feet, ¾ inches tall, and I
also collect Hall China. I live near Greensburg, Pennsylvania,
with my husband Don, whom I married in 1995, and our pampered Boston Terrier Sophia. Don and I met in 1992 through the Golden Triangle Tall Club, Inc.; a social club for men and women of above average height. Men must be at least 6’ 2” and women 5’ 10” in their stocking feet.

I started collecting Hall China in 1994 after acquiring several pieces that belonged to my mother. A friend informed me of the Hall China Collector’s Club Newsletter which I quickly subscribed to. I also learned that the factory was still in operation in East Liverpool, Ohio, an hour’s drive from my home.
At first I searched only for the decal pattern called Wildfire. I soon learned how elusive the pattern was after searching through many antique shops and flea markets. Through the power of eBay my collection has grown considerably and along the way I became interested in collecting dripolators and teapots. Another great resource for Hall collecting is the Hall China Collectors Web Page. Through his web page I have had the opportunity to meet other Hall collectors from all over the country many of whom have helped me in my search.

Wildfire was a dinnerware pattern given as premiums by the Great American Tea Company produced by the Hall China Company of East Liverpool, Ohio. Credits were given for amounts of goods purchased, and customers could select pieces to sets that were offered during weekly visits. Wildfire was produced during the 40’s and 50’s and was offered to Great American’s route customers. (History of The Great American Tea Company, Steve Cagle & Dave Periord, Nov. 1999). The border pattern consists of tiny pink roses and green leaf garlands intertwined with a pale blue ribbon on a hi-white glazed body with 22K gold trim at the rims. |
